A MAN is fighting for his life following a collision in the early hours of this morning near Carrigans.

The BMW 5 series the man was driving left the road at Cloon, Carrigans just before 4 o’clock this morning.

The road at Cloon was closed for a period to allow for a technical examination to take place, but has since reopened.

Gardaí are investigating the theft of a BMW 5 Series from a house in Killea a short time before the collision.

The keys of the BMW were taken from the house at which it was parked and the car driven away.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074-9167100 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111
