RTE have filmed a Primetime Special on the fall-out over claims about who exactly owns the rights to Lough Foyle.

The national broadcaster has spent two days in and around Moville, Greencastle and Quigley’s Point discussing the issue.

Presenter Robert Shortt is to front the show which is set to discuss various aspects of the controversy with both Britain and Ireland claiming the Lough.

The programme is understood to feature a number of related issues including:

* Ownership of Lough Foyle

* Relevance of Crown Estate Commission re ownership.

* Brexit and potential effects on border between UK and EU

* Loughs Agency and the reasons they cannot deal with the 30,000 plus oyster trestles.

* The destruction of the Govt. designated S.P.A. by the unregulated activities on the foreshore of Lough Foyle.

There is speculation that the show will be broadcast tonight, Tuesday at 9.35pm.
