History was made yesterday in Owenbeg Derry when Coláiste Ailigh’s u16 Girls lifted their school’s first ever Ulster Gaelic football title with a comprehensive win over St Cillian’s from Co Antrim.
Seven goal scorer Shannon Ní Chuinneagáin was presented with the player of the final award by Ronan Mc Carthy who also presented team captain, Séanan Nic Lochlain with the Ulster cup on behalf of the Ulster Ladies Board.
Overall it was a great team performance from the Coláiste Ailigh girls who had to defend gallantly against a very strong wind in the second half which left team manager Blaine Ó Maolagain a very proud man at the end.
