Wanted Garda killer McDermott appears in court on motoring charges

January 28, 2017

Donegal Garda killer Martin McDermott has appeared in court again on motoring offences.

The Raphoe man was jailed for eight years in 2011 for the manslaughter of Garda Gary McLoughlin after he drove his car into a Garda car in Burt.

Gardai in Donegal are still looking to interview the 31 year old after he was allegedly involved in a car smash outside Letterkenny last year.

He was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital with back injuries but fled the hospital and cross the border to live in Derry.

McDermott, with an address at Meehan’s Terrace, Derry, admitted driving without a license or insurance in November last.

He was fined £500 and disqualified from driving for 12 months.
