The Carndonagh GAA club held its annual presentation dance last night in Tul-na-Ri.

There were over 200 in attendance and there were awards presented in men’s football, ladies football, hurling & camogie.

Along with team awards and individual awards, the club also presented 24 club members with awards for their involvement with county teams in 2016.

The special guest for the evening was recently retired Donegal footballer Eamon McGee who spoke about the commitment needed to be successful in Gaelic games today but also stressed how important it is to enjoy what you are doing as well.

Club chairman Paddy McLaughlin addressed the crowd with a summary of the year in the club and how great it had been to have a number of winning teams at county level across Under 16 Boys Football, Under 16 Girls Football, Minor Hurlers and Ladies Football. He also had a special mention for our Club Person of the Year Elizabeth Doherty & Club Executive Person of the Year Eoin McDonald.

Both Elizabeth & Eoin have served the club for a number of years and we are indebted to them and the level of commitment they showed in their roles.

The compere was Ray Lannon who took charge for the presentation of awards and even in the midst of a jammed pack programme he managed to interview some of our award recipients as we went along.

The night was topped off with music by Groovology who kept the floor packed for the evening.
