The hugely popular  Lifford Strabane AC 5K series came to a conclusion with the Lifford 5K on a very cold Sunday morning.
For two Letterkenny Athletic Club runners it was a highly successful conclusion. Richard Raymond stormed to his third consecutive individual victory in an excellent time of 21.52.
This gave the in-form Kerry man the  maximum 60 points for the series and 1st prize in the M60 category.
Barry Mackey put on another superb performance and finished in 19.27. This gave Barry 3rd place in the series in a highly competitive M50 category.
Paul Lee had a fine run and came home in 20.16. The race attracted 271 runners and was won by Sperrin Harriers’  Pierce McCullagh in 16.28.
Fionnuala Larkin, running her 27th Letterkenny parkrun, was the 1st woman finisher, clocking 22.49 for the 5K. Cathal Roarty was  the 1st M50-54 runner in 23.30. Peter McLean, in his 42nd outing, was the 2nd M55-59 finisher in a time of 27.23.
Siobhan Gallagher ran the Falcarragh parkrun for the first time on  Saturday and it was a very successful debut. The triathlete’s time of 21.08 gave her 2nd place overall and gave her 1st place in the women’s race.
The high quality Armagh International Road Races  will take place on Thursday.
Club coach Teresa McDaid will be manager of a strong Irish team, which includes Annmarie McGlynn and Maria McCambridge.
