Donegal Sports Partnership in association with the Donegal County Council Road Safety Working Group are delivering a series of evening seminars.

The evening seminars are targeting volunteers / organisers involved in managing events especially those that utilise public roads and public spaces.

The growth of recreational sport in the County has resulted in sports events such as running, cycling and walking events taking place on a regular basis, in many cases poor planning in such events has resulted in increased risk to both the organisers and the participants.

The proposed seminars will discuss the essential areas of planning, reducing risk, communication internal and external, managing and training volunteers. The format of the sessions will be interactive to allow for discussion between participants and the presenters.

All seminars are free with participants also being provided with a sports event planning guide to assist them in delivering a safe event.
