A Donegal county councillor has pleaded with Donegal’s five TDs to sit down together and to discuss the DEIS schools issue.

Councillor Michael Mac Giolla Easbuig said he wanted all Dail representatives to “pull on the Donegal jersey” and to discuss the matter.

A number of Donegal schools were recently omitted from grants to include them on the DEIS school programme.

Councillor Mac Giolla Easbuig said that Junior Minister Joe McHugh has confirmed to him that he has sought a meeting with the Minister for Education.

“I am thankful to Minister McHugh for seeking this meeting and he is hopeful of getting some time with the Minister on this issue.

“I am appealing now for all Donegal’s five TDs to put on the Donegal jersey and to sit down and discuss this issue and find a way forward,” he said.
