People hospitalised after head-on collision on Fanad Peninsula

A number of people have been taken to hospital after a two-car head-on collision on the Fanad Peninsula this morning.

The crash happened around 10.30am close to the Harry Blaney Bridge.

It is understood that one car had four people on board while the other
one was occupied by the driver.

It is understood the four people in one car were on their way to a football game when the accident happened.

Emergency services including four ambulances rushed to the scene.

Eye-witnesses said that both vehicles caught fire.

It is understood that some of those involved in the crash were rushed to Letterkenny University Hospital but their injuries are not understood to be life-threatening.
