Gardai are at the scene of a major disturbance in Buncrana this evening.
It is understood a woman was attacked during an incident in a housing estate in the Cockhill area earlier in the night.
It follows previous incidents between rival factions in the area.
It is not known if any arrests have been made but tensions are understood to be very high in the area.
