Third class pupils in Dooish National School have been putting the miles or even the kilometres on their legs.

The pupils have been doing a KM a day challenge and successfully completed a full marathon on Friday last.

Well known Finn Valley coach, Dermot Mc Granaghan, who himself has run five marathons presented medals and certificates to the class to reward them for their endeavors.

Dermot congratulated the class for completing the 42km over 42 days and encouraged them to continue to take part in physical activities to stay fit and healthy.

The previous day the school took part in an Action Day as part of their Green School Programme.

An added fun element to the day was Funky Feet when the pupils were asked to decorate a pair of their old shoes. Included is one of the wonderful creations worn on the day.
