Lough Eske Castle, a Solís Hotel & Spa hosted their 9th Annual Charity Fashion show on the 5th of March in their stunning ballroom with 230 guests in attendance.

Management and staff of the hotel took to the catwalk with confidence to showcase the latest styles for Spring/Summer 17, while guests enjoyed a selection of delicious cup cakes.

The MC for the event was Mr. Noel Cunningham who has hosted this event for the last 8 years with the help of Mr. Stephen McElhinney on the music decks, keeping everyone entertained. This year Lough Eske Castle raised much needed funds for another two local charities Pieta House and Donegal Community Hospital Patient Comfort Fund.

Pieta House provides a free, therapeutic approach to people who are in suicidal distress and those who engage in self-harm. There is a 24 hour helpline 1800 247 247 and a suicide bereavement counselling service. Currently there are 10 centres in Ireland, the closet being either Dublin or Galway. Pieta North West is due to open in Letterkenny in April/May of this year.

Donegal Community Hospital Patient Comfort Fund – the patient comfort fund provides extra comforts to patients in the hospice suites. This is used by many families in the local community.

This magnificent event would not have happened without the help and participation of many local shops including; McElhinneys department store, Zuba Boutique, Magee of Donegal, Stella Boutique, Topher Lily, The Irish House, Get that Trend, Peters Manshop and All Sports.

This year marks a very special year for the hotel, celebrating their 10th year in business, and 9 of those years they have organised and hosted the fashion shows raising funds for over 11 local charities including; Sharon’s Girls, Solace Cancer support centre, Animals in Need, Donegal Hospice, Donegal Cancer Bus, St. Agnes Day care centre, Donegal Living Links, The Alzheimer’s Society Donegal and The Bluestack Foundation, raising an enormous amount of €45,000 in total.
