Gardai in Buncrana have appealed to anybody who was in the Earlsfort Avenue area of the town yesterday to contact them.

It follows a major disturbance in the area between 4.30pm and 6pm.

Gardai were called to the scene following the incident in a bid to bring the incident under control.

A Garda spokesman described the incident as “serious” and appealed for anybody who may have witnessed anything suspicious to contact them in confidence at Buncrana Garda station.

“The matter was brought under control quickly when our members went in but we are appealing to anybody who was in the Earlsfort Avenue and may have noticed anything to come forward,” he said.
