The body of a man has been found on the Donegal/Derry border.

The discovery was made this morning by a man clearing land with machinery.

The body was found in thick undergrowth.

It is believed the body could be that of a pensioner who has been missing since November 2015.

John Concannon went missing from his home in Derry.

The body was found along the border in the townland of Lenamore on the outskirts of Muff.

The investigation is being overseen by the PSNI.

The late Mr Concannon’s relatives have gathered at the scene of the discovery.

The 71 year old was last seen in November 2015 amidst reports that he may have taken a bus to Derry.

A huge search for the missing pensioner which included sniffer dogs lasted for weeks but he was never found.
