St Michael’s: Mixed fortunes for senior teams on opening day

The All County League got underway on Sunday last with both teams travelling to Donegal Town to take on Four Masters and the team had mixed fortunes on the opening day.

The Seniors were defeated on a scoreline of Four Master 1-9 St. Michael’s 0-9.

The St. Michael’s team and Scorers were: Dean McColgan, Stephen Doak, Michael Gallagher 0-1, Liam Paul Ferry, Michael Cannon, Ciaran Gallagher, Ciaran Kelly, Christy Toye 0-1, Martin McElhinney, Daniel McLaughlin, Andrew Kelly 0-2, Colm McFadden 0-3, Brian McLaughlin, Odhrán McFadden 0-2.  Subs: Keelan McGee for Daniel McLaughlin, Paul Creamer for Daniel McLaughlin, Ruairi Friel for M. Gallagher and Caolan Toye for McGee.

The reserves recorded a good victory winning on a scoreline of Four Master 1-4 St. Michael’s 4-8.

The St. Michael’s team and scorers were: Dean Fleming, Liam Kelly 0-1, Stephen Horan, Brandon McColgan, Ruairi Friel, James Henry Alcorn, Hugh O’Donnell, Keelan McGee 0-1, Paul Baird, Brendan Rodden, Caolan Toye, Lee Carr 0-2, Eoghan Kelly 0-1, Stephen Coyle 3-3, Peter Sweeney, Sub Dillian Dohery for Peter Sweeney 1-0.

Both teams are at home to Glenties on this Sunday the 19th March with the throw ins at 1.30pm and 3pm.

St. Michael’s Mini Lotto

There was no Jackpot winner in the St. Michael’s Mini Lotto on Sunday night last.  The numbers drawn were 1,6,8,9, 15,18.  The match 5 winners were P. McGeady Earrooey and Louise Sweeney Swillybrin who won €50 each. This weeks Jackpot be €3150.

The Club would like to thank Brian and Margaret Anne Dolan, Wild Atlantic camp and Roses Bar Creeslough, Seamus Sweeney Kildarragh Construction Philadelphia, Shaun Langan Creeslough Pallets and Michael McColgan Dunfanaghy for their continuing sponsorship of the lotto jackpot, it is very much

St. Michael’s Bingo Session

The winner of the €100 on the Blue Sheet Game at the Bingo Session in Creeslough on Sunday night last was Anne Hewitson Kildarragh.  The €75 on the 5th Game was won by Mary Boyle Massinass.

The Bingo in Creeslough now runs as follows:  There will be 10 games in the
book and then the sheet game.

The €1,000 on the sheet game will now start at 45 nos or less and if not
won in March/April it will be 46 Numbers or less in May and so on till someone wins the €1,000.

Single Book including sheet €10 Double Book and Double Sheet €16.

Tickets for the Clubs Easter Hamper are also included with your Bingo Books. Please come out and support your local Bingo.

Nicola is currently gathering photographs for the clubhouse. If anyone has ANY team photographs from winning senior, reserve, u21 or any underage teams in league/championship/Gaeltacht she would really appreciate if you let her know. All hard copies of the photos will be returned to you safely once we make a copy of them or likewise photos can be emailed to secretary.stmichaels.donegal@gaa.ie

Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure is now stocking St Michaels club gear in children and adult sizes.

Initials can be embroidered on tops if requested in the shop.

St. Michael’s Minor Board

Parish League
The Parish League continues this Sunday, March 19th at the Bridge from 11am until 12.30pm. It was great to see such a good crowd for Week 1. All boys and girls 4-13 years welcome . Suitable clothing should be worn and remember gum shields are compulsory.  Younger children should bring runners in case of bad weather. Registration will continue to take place. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

U14
Training takes place this Saturday March 18th with Darragh at the Bridge at 12.30pm and we look forward to a good turnout. Matches begin next month.
Minors
Our first match in the League is away to Convoy this St Patrick’s morning at 11.45am. Please come along and support the boys.

Clothes Bank
A clothes bank is now situated on High St, Creeslough ie around the corner from McNultys Bar in aid of St. Michael’s Minor Board.  If anyone is clearing out presses etc. all donations of clothes, shoes, bags, curtains etc would be much appreciated.
