Listen: Ryan McHugh on Donegal meeting ‘different challenges’

Ryan McHugh was delighted to see Donegal get over their latest ‘challenge’ with a six-point win over in-form Tyrone last night.

McHugh was a leading light as Donegal handed the Red Hands their first loss of 2017 and a 0-12 to 0-6 win was the highlight of the year so far for Rory Galagher’s team.

“We’re delighted to get over the line,” McHugh said.

“Tyrone are one of the top teams so to put in a performance and get the result is a huge delight for the Donegal boys tonight.

“Tyrone will be back. They’re not a bad side overnight. It’ll be a different Tyrone come the summertime.”

In horrid conditions, Donegal surged clear in the second quarter and never looked like giving up their half-time advantage, which stood at 0-9 to 0-4.

McHugh said: “It was tough. It was a challenge. Every day you go out to play football, it’s a different challenge. We dealt with it good enough. We got at them and got scores early on.”
