Errigal Facial Aesthetics: Botox – Not just for worry lines!

Errigal Facial Aesthetics in Letterkenny give a guide to botox procedures that are not just for those worrisome worry lines:

Most of us have heard of Botox in association with various cosmetic treatments, but the beauty of Botox is that it is used in a wide range of medical procedures as well. Over the years, the use of Botox has evolved to provide relief from a number of medical complaints.

At Errigal Facial Aesthetics, our medical doctors are skilled in a number of these procedures and are able to assist with numerous common concerns, which include excessive sweating, teeth grinding and Morton’s metatarsalgia.

Excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, is a common concern affecting a large number of people. The most commonly affected areas are the underarm area and the palms of the hands, with many people reporting that they feel self-conscious and reluctant to wear specific types of clothing as they feel that their sweating will be too obvious. The great news is that this doesn’t have to be you! We at Errigal Facial Aesthetics have had significant success with this procedure which involves injecting small amounts of Botox into the affected areas, which effectively reduced the amount of sweat produced, thereby helping our clients to achieve more confidence and freedom in their appearance.

Teeth grinding, which can also be known as bruxism, has been reported as affecting between 8 and 20% of the general population. It can occur whilst you sleep, and those who suffer from severe symptoms that are left untreated can go on to suffer associated problems like headaches, damaged teeth, and a painful jaw. If you or your partner have noticed that you are suffering from these symptoms, we offer treatment by injecting a small amount of Botox into the jaw muscle, which softens the tension in the muscle and successfully relieves the teeth grinding.

Another area in which Botox is effective is in dealing with the painful symptoms associated with Morton’s metatarsalgia, also known as Morton’s neuroma. This condition affects the nerves on the balls of the foot and can lead to pain, tingling and numbness between the toes. In the past it has proved a difficult condition to treat, but recent research has shown that Botox is an effective option and leads to a significant reduction in the pain and improvement in the overall functioning.

If you are suffering from any of the above conditions, don’t continue to suffer in silence!
