A unique film showcasing some of Donegal’s most stunning wildlife will be shown at a Wild Inishowen Event in The Exchange, Buncrana this Thursday at 7.30pm.
The film was shot by John Coyle of JAC Productions.
Filmed locally, the one-hour film starts in early morning mist on Inch Lake and ends in the dark of night in the forest.
It features marvellous footage of many elusive species including Kingfisher, Otter, Grouse, Badger, Fox, Sparrowhawk and even a White-Tailed Sea Eagle catching Trout on the Pollan Dam.
There are many spectacular close-up views of our rich heritage of native wildlife, with their song set against music. This is a must for all nature lovers in the area.
Film-maker Coyle said “At JAC Productions we have been working on community and corporate film productions for almost 20 years. Our passion has been helping Communities express themselves through film in many formats from recording historical stories, to exploring art using our skill to bring to life the ideas of local artists.
“Over the years we have taken on another passion, that of recording the abundance of our wildlife, however we have never had the opportunity to share it with the general public. After a chance conversation with members of Wild Inishowen, the opportunity has arisen, and we are delighted to be able to share a film we have made for the club.
“The shots were brought together after a number of months planning, tracking the wildlife and shooting. The film, we hope, gives time for the viewer to experience the excitement we felt on the days we filmed. We have tried to convey this by using the natural soundscapes of the environment, mixed with music to recreate the still, yet busy world of our wildlife in Inishowen and Donegal. We hope people enjoy seeing it as much as we did making it.”
The entrance fee is a mere €2 and everyone is welcome.
