St Michael’s: Gaeltacht involvement ends with defeats to Dungloe and St Naul’s

Both teams played in the Gaelacht Championship last weekend; the seniors were at home to Dungloe in a reverse fixture owing to the Dungloe pitch being unplayable. 

The home team were understrength and Dungloe ran out deserved winners on a scoreline of St. Michaels 1-11 Dungloe 5-15.

St. Michael’s Team and Scorers: Dean McColgan, Paul Creamer, Liam Paul Ferry, Michael Gallagher, Michael Cannon 0-1, Kieran Gallagher 0-1, Ruairi Friel, Michael McGinley 0-1 Ciaran Kelly, Chris McElhinney 0-1, Caolan Toye 0-1, Brian McLaughlin 1-2, Odhrán McFadden 0-4.

The Reserves were also defeated away to St. Nauls in Mountcharles,  losing on a scoreline of St. Nauls 2-12 St. Michael’s 1-6.

St. Michael’s Mini Lotto

There was no Jackpot winner in the St. Michael’s Mini Lotto on Sunday night last.  The numbers drawn were 2,4,13,15,16,20.  The match 5 winners were Debra Johnstone 8 Rose Cottage Portnablagh, Tommy McGlinchey Derry and Tony Mulhern Gortahork who won €35 each;  This weeks Jackpot be €3250.

The Club would like to thank Brian and Margaret Anne Dolan, Wild Atlantic camp and Roses Bar Creeslough, Seamus Sweeney Kildarragh Construction Philadelphia, Shaun Langan Creeslough Pallets and Michael McColgan Dunfanaghy for their continuing sponsorship of the lotto jackpot, it is very much appreciated.

The winner of the €100 on the Blue Sheet Game at the Bingo Session in Creeslough on Sunday night last was Mary Ferry Murroe; The €75 on the 5th Game was won by James Sayers Earrooey.

The Bingo in Creeslough now runs as follows:  There will be 10 games in the book and then the sheet game.

The €1,000 on the sheet game will now start at 45 nos or less and if not won in March/April it will be 46 Numbers or less in May and so on till someone wins the €1,000.

Single Book including sheet €10 Double Book and Double Sheet €16.  Tickets for the Clubs Easter Hamper are also included with your Bingo Books.

Pitch Gates

All Managers and everyone else who uses the Club Naomh Micheál Pitch at The Bridge in are asked to please close the Gate as they leave.

SOS for Photographs

Nicola is currently gathering photographs for the clubhouse. If anyone has ANY team photographs from winning senior, reserve, u21 or any underage teams in league/championship/Gaeltacht she would really appreciate if you let her know. All hard copies of the photos will be returned to you safely once we make a copy of them or likewise photos can be emailed to secretary.stmichaels.donegal@gaa.ie

Please spread the word as the team photos required date back to 1967! All help with this little project would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure is now stocking St Michael’s club gear in children and adult sizes. Initials can be embroidered on tops if requested in the shop.

St. Michael’s Minor Board

Parish League
The Parish League continues this Sunday, April 2nd at the Bridge from 11am until 12.30pm. It was great to see such a good crowd for Week 3. All boys and girls 4-13 years welcome. Suitable clothing should be worn and remember gum shields are compulsory.  Younger children should bring runners in case of bad weather. Registration will continue to take place. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Gaelic For Girls

All girls between the ages of 8 and 13years interested in playing Gaelic football for St. Michaels should contact Bernard on 087 248 1402. €10 registration – this covers the 8 week programme and a Gaelic4Girls t-shirt.  All girls are welcome and no experience is necessary.  Training dates will be announced shortly.

St. Michael’s tracksuits
Orders can be taken at Parish League or through Colette Alcorn on  085 139 8321.Colette has samples for sizes. Money must be paid for before order is placed. Picture and price list on St Michael’s Minor Board facebook.

Under 12’s

Under 12’s training for boys and girls born in 2005/2006 takes place at the Bridge on Wednesday evenings from 5.30pm to 7pm.  3 euro for bus, bus leaves Creeslough at 5pm.  Remember to bring gumshields and gloves, any queries please contact Danny Martin on 0876471415.  Games begin Wednesday 9th April.

Registration

All players must be registered.  Anyone who has not yet registered please contact Pauline on 0879499479. Registration must take place before the end of March to take part in games.  Registration can take place at Parish League.

Clothes Bank
A clothes bank is now situated on High St, Creeslough ie around the corner from McNultys Bar in aid of St. Michael’s Minor Board.  If anyone is clearing out presses etc. all donations of clothes, shoes, bags, curtains etc would be much appreciated.
