The Christmas Spirit LK Team have today announced the overall total from their 2016 fundraising video.

The charity drive last December brought in an impressive €7,500 total to be donated to the Donegal Hospice and Pieta House.

A great show of community effort went into the creation of the music video ‘Put A Little Love In Your Heart’ which was released on December 1st. The initial fundraising target of €2,500 was reached in just 12 days after the launch.

As more locals, businesses and celebrities showed their support for #LetterkennyCares, the target was doubled and then trebled. Both the Donegal Hospice and Pieta House Northwest will receive €3750 each.

Christmas Spirit LK is a charity fundraising project established in 2015 by An Grianan Theatre Technician Pete Rose. Ever since, the Christmas spirit of generosity has grown in Letterkenny as local businesses and well-known faces come together to record and promote the video to raise money for charities.

The 2016 music video featured 16 businesses from around Letterkenny, including UHG, the Credit Union, the Donegal Hospice, Pieta House and the Letterkenny Gardai. Famous faces Daniel and Majella O’Donnell, Jason Quigley, Michael Murphy and Mickey Joe Harte all made an appearance.
