Four young women who are preparing for an important pilgrimage are hold a tea and bake sale in Letterkenny this weekend.

Loreto TY students, Joanna McMonagle, Róisín Conaghan, Natasha Tinney and Rosa Barrett are all taking part in the John Paul II awards and have embarked on this journey as part of their participation in the award program.

During their Easter holidays this year, the girls will be travelling to Medjugorje and are seeking support for local charities and their work in the community project.

The Pope John Paul II Award structure provides an opportunity where young people can get involved in the life of the parish community and the Church. The girls are also participating in a day of celebration next Tuesday at Knock Shrine to mark the 10th anniversary of the JP2 awards.

The parish encourages and supports these young people of the parish who wish to take part in these pilgrimages that is why they are asking for your support at their tea & bake sale in St. Eunan’s Cathedral after masses this weekend including the Saturday 7.30pm evening mass and the 10 and 12pm masses on Sunday.

The girls have put in a great effort in organising this event and would appreciate local support. Everyone is welcome to come along to the community room upstairs for a cuppa and a bun. The monies raised will help fund the girls trip to Medjugorje and other local charities.
