Máire Dinny Wren wins North West Words poetry competition

Máire Dinny Wren was announced the winner of the North West Words, Ealaín na Gaeltachta and Donegal Creameries/Aurivo Poetry Competition (Irish Language) 2016.

Pictured above is Brid Lindsay presenting the Donegal Creameries perpetual cup to Máire Dinny Wren, along with Rachel Holstead and Prionsias Mac a’Bhaird.

Her winning poem is titled ‘An Fidléir’.

A spokesperson for North West Words extended their congratulations and gratitude to the shortlisted poets who attended the awards ceremony this weekend: Michéal O Ruairc; Seosamh Ó Murchú; Gearóid DeBriotún; Sean O’Muireagáin; and, Dubhán Ó Longháin.

All shortlisted poems will be published in May’s edition of the North West Words magazine.
