Following Seamus Coleman’s horror leg break last week, floods of well wishes were made from football fans from across the globe for his speedy recovery.
Rival football club Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp wished Seamus well in his programme message to fans during the Merseyside derby, saying “I would like to pass on my regards and best wishes to Seamus Coleman, who due to very unfortunate circumstances is not available to play today.”
Similarly Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson showed great sportsmanship by expressing his support by saying “I’d like to wish Seamus Coleman a speedy recovery from the injury he suffered while on international duty.
“From everything I’ve heard about his character he’ll be back even stronger from this and even though he makes Everton a better team, we all look forward to seeing him return to football as quickly as is possible.”
However not everyone is as supportive as Klopp and Henderson as a video of apparent Liverpool fans emerged on Twitter this morning, which shows them chanting “How’s your leg, how’s your leg Seamus Coleman? We hope you never play again” to the tune of the Sixty Grand song which Blues supporters dedicate to Coleman.

Chairman of the Merseyside branch of the Liverpool Supporters Club, Les Lawson, condemned their taunts, and said that the Liverpool fans depicted in the video do not represent Liverpool fans as a whole.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo this morning, Lawson said; “Straight away after the injury everyone was hoping he makes a speedy recovery. It was a horrific tackle.
“It can easily be one of your own players and you should never mock a player who gets hurt like that.
“The majority of Liverpool fans wish him well and hope he is back to playing again soon.
“I remember, despite what was claimed, that when Alan Smith broke his leg and was stretchered off at Anfield the whole ground stood and applauded him.”
Other Liverpool fans took to Twitter to express their disgust of the taunts shown in the video.
One Liverpool fan said “I’m a season ticket holder at Anfield and this is a disgusting chant. Never mock an injury of that magnitude on anyone. Should be ashamed.”
Another fan said “F***ing disgraceful, not true fans of football… any of them.”
