Finn Harps have been drawn at home to north-west rivals Sligo Rovers in the second round of the EA Sports Cup.

Harps had been away to Galway United in each of the last two seasons, but today’s draw, conducted at FAI headquarters in Abbotstown, has given the Donegal men a home tie.

They’ll welcome the Bit O’Red to Finn Harps for the second round fixture on the week beginning Monday, April 17.

Sligo Rovers had been given a bye in the first round.

On Monday night, Harps defeated Ulster Senior League side Cockhill Celtic 3-1 in their opening round fixture. A Jonny Bonner brace and a third by Sean Houston saw Ollie Horgan’s men through.

The second round fixtures are done on a regional ‘pool’ basis.
