Donegal Under-21 manager Declan Bonner has issued a rallying call to Donegal supporters ahead of tomorrow night’s Ulster Under-21 final against Derry.

Donegal fans have been up in arms since Thursday’s confirmation by the Ulster Council that the game (throw-in 8pm) had been fixed for the Athletic Grounds in Armagh – but Bonner has urged supporters to get to Armagh in their droves.
Donegal impressively topped Cavan on Wednesday night in their semi-final, having accounted for Tyrone following a quarter-final replay.
Now, Derry stand in their way and Bonner would love a big Donegal crowd to roar his men on.
“This is the last ever Ulster Under-21 Championship and we’d love it if we were bringing it back to Donegal,” Bonner said.
“I know a lot of people aren’t happy and that’s only natural. The choice of venue isn’t ideal and it does place a lot of supporters in a tight spot in terms of actually making it to the game.
“But these lads are the future for Donegal and a huge number of them have already played for the Donegal seniors this year.
“They have put their heart and soul into their Donegal careers since we first started working with them and they’ve already brought good success to the county.
“I’d like to appeal to supporters to get their green and gold on and get to Armagh because we will need all the help we can get. It’s an awkward time and place for Donegal people, but let’s show them how much we love our football and let’s get there united to lift these young lads.
“These fellas have gone to the well so many times for Donegal over the last few years and I have no doubt that they’re capable of a big display. I think they’re deserving of a big support so I want to, again, ask people to please do what they can to get to Armagh and get behind us in big numbers.”
