Pieta House’s annual Darkness Into Light (DIL) annual fundraising and awareness event is set to take place this year on May 6th 2017.

This year, there will have roughly 150 DIL venues across Ireland and worldwide.

In Donegal, there are now 8 venues including Falcarragh, Arranmore Island, Buncrana, Carrick, Donegal Town, Letterkenny, Maghery and Tory Island.

This year see’s DIL Falcarragh hosting their event in the woods, on the ground of Ballyconnell Estate in Falcarragh and the walk begins at 4.15am, as people walk a 5km route while the dawn is breaking.

In Ireland, last year saw 130,000 people sharing the light and helping to promote suicide prevention and to tackle the stigma that leads people to the doors of Pieta House centres.

There will be three locations available this coming Sat 15th to Pre-Register for DIL Falcarragh event.

In Falcarragh you can find members of the Darkness into Light team in an office on the main street directly beside Night Star Indian restaurant.

In Gweedore they will be in Siopa Mhicí and in Dunfanaghy they will be in Centra Shop on the main street – from 12pm to 4pm.

Those who have already registered online can also come and collect their t-shirts just bring your confirmation receipt with you.

Darkness Into Light is a movement against suicide. Money raised helps keep Pieta House’s life-saving services free and helps to broaden their services throughout Ireland. It is also very welcoming news that Pieta House North West is on schedule to open on the 15th of May in Letterkenny.
