An international appeal has been launched to source information surrounding the attack and murder of Buncrana woman Danielle McLaughlin in India.

The 28-year-old Donegal woman was killed in the Goa region on March 13th. She had been celebrating the Holi Festival in the beach hotspot of Palolem when she was brutally murdered.

One local man has been charged with her murder but it is believed that others may have been involved.

A Truth For Danielle Mc Laughlin campaign group has been set up by close friends of Danielle to demand justice for her death and raise funds for the legal team in the murder trial.

Derry solicitor Desmond J Doherty has been appointed as coordinator of the international legal team.

The team have made an international plea for assistance in a bid to bring all those responsible to justice. Organisers are seeking mobile phone footage from Palolem on the day of Danielle’s murder.

A spokesperson said: “At this time we are especially interested in any mobile phone or cellular device footage that you may have, if you were present in Goa for the Holi Festival in the area of the Festival Valley at Palolem Beach and Collomb Bay on the 13th March 2017, and the days leading up to the 13th March 2017.

“We are seeking to identify all potential witnesses from the footage and photographs that so many people have already sent to us.

“If you feel that you can help at all please upload what images or footage you have with date, time and location, identifying any person that you can. Any assistance will be invaluable and much appreciated by Danielle’s family, friends and legal team.”

Images and footage can be emailed to christytduffy@gmail.com or the lead lawyer acting on behalf of Danielle’s family at des@desmondjdoherty.co
