Listen: Gavin Cullen’s relief after Cockhill make hard work of vital win at Bonagee

Gavin Cullen was the picture of relief last night as Cockhill Celtic eked their way to a narrow win over Bonagee United.

Jimmy Bradley’s 81st minute goal takes Cockhill to within a point of clinching the Ulster Senior League title for a fifth successive season.

Letterkenny Rovers must now beat Finn Harps Reserves on Tuesday night or the silverware will be Cockhill’s again.

But Cockhill had to earn their corn at Dry Arch Park last night.

“It was hard work,” Cullen said.

“It was a serious game. Bonagee really put it up to us. I’ve never seen a Bonagee team as competitive or as up for a game.

“In one way, fair play to them and in another where were they all season? They really put it up to us and tested us, but we probably deserved it.

“We kept going and going. We were 90 per cent in their half. With the players we have available you always feel we’ll score goals. It was very frustrating out there though.”
