Have you heard a ‘Hello’ from Marley the missing parrot?

A rare talking parrot has gone missing in the Letterkenny area and his owners are anxious to see him returned home safely.

Marley is a rare African grey parrot who is just 8 months old and is learning to speak. He can say ‘Hello’ but may be nervous and scared if approached.

The young bird is a much-loved family pet who flew out the door of his home at Mountain Top, Letterkenny. Owner Amanda Whoriskey says he might approach people who have food if he is hungry and she is asking anyone who sees Marley to try and catch him safely.

Amanda is eager to see Marley come home: “Myself and kids are inconsolable at the moment. We are pleading for the public to keep an eye out in their gardens and roof also as he might not have flown far. He was last seen flying into the Foxhills area.

“If anyone sees him and can get near, try to put a blanket or a box over him so he can’t fly away again,” she told Donegal Daily.

If you have seen Marley or know any more information, call Amanda Whoriskey on 0863269089.
