Listen: Donegal hurling boss targeting Croke Park return in Nicky Rackard Cup

Donegal senior hurling manager Ardal McDermott believes his side is well capable of being in Croke Park in June for the Nicky Rackard Cup final.

Donegal begin their Nicky Rackard campaign tomorrow against Armagh in Letterkenny (1pm) and McDermott has faith that his side, who have already been crowned Division 3A champions, can reach the final.

Donegal won the Nicky Rackard Cup four years ago, having been Lory Meagher Cup champions in 2011.

Tomorrow will see former Armagh Nicky Rackard All-Star Declan Coulter line up against his home county.

Donegal are in good form going into the game, even if they did ship flak last weekend for withdrawing from the Ulster SHC relegation play-off with Down.

“This is the game that we’ve been building for,” McDermott said.

“I see Croke Park for us. You have to believe and feel that you’re strong enough. I have good faith in this team of players and I think they have what it takes.

“We are where we want: We have promotion, the team is well gelled and formed as a unit and we’re in a good position to take on Armagh. It’s a tough task, but it’s one we can overcome.”
