A man was cycling on the Raphoe road yesterday morning before the mart when he experienced an extremely close call with a lorry.

The man believes that the driver of the lorry may have been on their mobile phone when they veered onto his side of the road, narrowly missing him.

He was left very shaken after the incident.

Speaking to Donegal Daily, he says “I want to make people aware of the dangers cyclists face on our roads every day.”

“It’s dangerous driving – all road users should feel safe.”

The shocking incident has been reported to the Gardaí. Investigations are ongoing.
