Listen: Ollie Horgan frustrated as Finn Harps lose at Bohs

Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan cut a frustrated figure as he stood in the Jodi Stand to assess a 2-0 loss to Bohemians.

An own goal by Damien McNulty in the sixth minute and a fine Oscar Brennan strike early in the second half gave Bohs victory over ten-man Harps, who had Barry Molloy sent off in the 54th minute.

“Two mistakes cost us,” Horgan said as he saw his side slide to ninth.

“We were very much in the game. We have come up the wrong side of a 2-0 defeat and we have to move on.

“I think tonight we did play better, but the rub of the green didn’t go with us. We had a lot of half chances, but didn’t really make Shane Supple make a save. They probably deserved to win the game.”

Horgan confirmed that Michael Funston was unavailable due to pre-arranged family commitments while the Harps boss didn’t delve too much into the departure from the club of Thomas McMonagle.

Harps had only 16 players in the squad tonight and will now be without Molloy for next week’s trip to runaway leaders Cork City.

Horgan said: “We patched up one or two to name five subs, but we still had enough on the pitch to get something out of the game.”
