A Fionnan Coyle hat-trick fired Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair to glory in today’s SFAI Minor ‘B” Boys National Cup final at Gortakeegan.

Coyle’s treble brought the silverware to Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair, who also won the Senior ‘B’ Cup earlier in the year.

Coyle scored his first on 13 minutes when he shot home after a Cian McBride throw-in.

Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair were denied by the woodwork three times in quick succession. Jamie Doherty was twice thwarted by the crossbar as Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair turned the screw.

Padraig Ferry headed off the bar and Eoin Burke wasn’t far away with a close-range effort.

Burke hit the side-netting, but they doubled the lead when Coyle drilled home on 58 minutes.

Eleven minutes later, Coyle sealed his hat-trick, scoring from close range after taking a pass across goal.

Luke O’Connor pulled one back, but it was to be Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair’s day.
