Did the Millennium Falcon return to Donegal for Star Wars Day?

May 4th is a special day all over the world to celebrate the Star Wars franchise – and it was done in many imaginative ways in Donegal today.

‘May the Fourth be with You’ was a common phrase heard today as a pun based on the Star Wars saying: ‘May the Force be with you’. It was only right that locals in Donegal marked the day by remembering the excitement of the iconic Millennium Falcon appearing at Malin Head last year.

The Star Wars film crew left a lasting impression on the Coolest county when they visited to film scenes from Star Wars: Episode VIII at Ireland’s most northernly point on the Wild Atlantic Way.

The hotly-anticipated Episode VIII: The Last Jedi is due for release this December, but it has already attracted scores of fans to Donegal to discover the amazing natural landscape that was the perfect location for the blockbuster production.

Local businesses in Donegal got creative today to bring the Millenium Falcon back to glide over scenic spots. Check out where the spaceship was (virtually) spotted today, and some other fun ways that we celebrated Star Wars.
