Fire crews from Gaoth Dobhair, Dungloe and Falcarragh are battling a gorse fire at Corveen, Derrybeg this morning.
The emergency services were alerted after 9am but it is understood the fire was ongoing since after 7am.
It is understood that a considerable amount of turf on bogs in the area has been destroyed in the fire.
Fire crews hope to have the blaze extinguished in the next hour or so.
In recent weeks there have been a number of outbreaks of gorse fires.
People are being advised not to light open fires during the dry weather when they are liable to spread.
