Minister of State for Tourism visits Donegal

Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Patrick O’Donovan is to visit Donegal today and tomorrow to view local sport and tourism hotspots.

On the Minister’s itinerary is a visit to the Finn Valley sports centre in Stranorlar as well as the new Finn Harps stadium which is currently under construction. The new stadium is planned to have a seating capacity of 6,600 and is expected to be opened in March 2019.

The Minister also plans to visit the Kinnegar Brewing Company at their new premises in Letterkenny and the Mulroy Drive Group in Ripples Restaurant, Kerrykeel. On Wednesday Minister O’Donovan plans to visit Fanad Lighthouse/ visitor centre.

Finally, on Wednesday afternoon the minister will meet with members of the Donegal County Council for a meeting regarding the Donegal Tourism Strategy.

The minister’s full itinerary can be found below:

Tuesday 16th May 2017
· 1:15pm – 2:30pm Finn Harps – visit to Finn Valley Sports Centre and the site of the new Finn Harps stadium.

· 3:30pm – 4:15pm Donegal Sports Partnership (Pearse Road).

· 4:30pm – 5pm Kinnegar Brewing Company (at the new Letterkenny premises).

· 6:30pm – 7:30pm Mulroy Drive Group- Ripples Restaurant , Kerrykeel.

Wednesday 17th May 2017
· 11am – 12:30pm Official visit to Fanad Lighthouse /Visitor Centre.

· 12:30 – 1pm- Meeting with members of Donegal County Council regarding Donegal Tourism Strategy – venue TBC.
