Three Rivers Shotokan club had a busy weekend as they returned to the City West Hotel Dublin for 2 days of karate under the watchful eye of multiple World and European Champions Alexandra Recchia from France and Rene Smaal from Holland.

Day 1 of this annual event organised by WKFI Instructors Martin Nulty and Jimmy Harte was a seminar which seen all in attendance gaining excellent knowledge in a fun packed environment which culminated with Jamie-Lee Simpson and Emma Dolan being selected to compete on opposite teams on the Sunday as both champions went head to head as coaches in a team challenge match.
Sunday saw the serious side of the weekend commence as the members of the Three Rivers took to the Tatami in what was a high level competition and again the young athletes from Donegal didn’t disappoint their Coach Martin McNamee as they scooped an amazing tally of 6 Golds 9 Silver and 3 Bronze medals.
