Steven Crane is a 30-year-old Letterkenny local with a sharp eye for a cutting cartoon.

Steven will be dropping his work in on Donegal Daily from time to time.

He explained the inspiration behind his work including his first offering which is a farewell to a certain Taoiseach.

“About three years ago, spurred on by boredom, I tried my hand at drawing a wee fat guy on my computer. Happy with my efforts I kept going, every now and then getting a laugh here and there.

“The ideas can come from the news of the day, an overheard comment, or just a funny thought I’d like to see come to life. They may not be to everyone’s tastes, but if I can make even one person chuckle, I’m happy.

“I’m now studying design at the LYIT, and what better way to wind down after a day of meeting deadlines than by drawing a bare bum every now and then. “
