A new survey by the National Standards Authority of Ireland has found that 63% of Irish businesses think that they will be harmed by a possible hard border.

Of those surveyed 14% were unsure on whether a hard border would effect their business while 23% believed that their businesses would be unaffected.

Also in the survey participants were asked how  Brexit would affect their businesses of which 55% said that it would have a negative impact.

Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce CEO Toni Forrester said that the border issue was high on the priority list for the Chamber of Commerce.

“We are hopeful that the guarantees of a soft border are carried through” said Forrester, however she warned that businesses must prepare for the worst case scenario of a hard border.
