The Donegal stages are proving tricky for not just the participants in the An Post Rás this week.

On Wednesday, the Rás made its way through Inishowen with a tricky climb for the riders on the famous Mamore Gap.

The steep rise was jammed with cycling enthusiasts and locals who came out in the numbers to catch a glimpse.

It wasn’t just the riders who found Mamore Gap to be too tough – even the emergency services needed assistance!

The Rás ambulance stalled on the ascent, but a team of supporters quickly got in behind to get it going again.

You know it's very steep when even the ambulance needs emergency intervenion!! #Mamore #RAS2017 pic.twitter.com/jtvA3abFZr
