Ms Amy Callaghan who was selected to represent  Donegal at this year’s 2017 Rose of Tralee Festival launched her two chosen charities Pieta House and Jigsaw by hosting a night at the races charity event at Backstage Bar & Grill, Letterkenny.

Amy who is sponsored by Century Complex is also an employee at Backstage Restaurant was put forward for the Donegal Rose by her colleague and manager Ms. Annmarie Crawford. Needless to say the excitement has been soaring since Amy was selected back in March 2017.

A Night at the Races – Backstage Bar + Grill

The night at the races was a private event held on Wednesday 31st May for Ms. Callaghan’s family, friends and colleagues at Century Complex which comprised of a drinks reception, tasty nibbles,  giveaway prizes and horse racing for all who attended. Each race on the night was encouraged and entertained by John Breslin.

Ms. Callaghan stated, ‘I chose these two charities because personally they are close to my heart and I am sure to many others around the county. Mental Health still has a stigma surrounding it and we need to keep talking and letting people know, it’s okay not to be okay. ”

“I believe these two organisations support people and families in so many ways and I am delighted to have chosen them as my selected charities’.

Mark Doherty, Century Complex said, ‘Amy sets off to represent Donegal this August at the Rose of Tralee Festival in Co. Kerry, we are delighted to have sponsored Amy throughout and to have supported her by hosting this event for two amazing charities. On behalf of all of the staff at Century Complex we would like to take this opportunity to wish Amy the best of luck and we have no doubt she will do amazing’.
