Family friendly yoga festival returns to beautiful beach hotspot

The North West Yoga Festival is returning to Donegal after a successful launch last year. It will be taking place on Sunday 11th June 2017 in the scenic seaside setting of the Isle of Doagh.

Festival organisers Odel Ward and Aisling Friel are looking forward to the event, which they describe as “a gathering of teachers and students for an afternoon of all styles of yoga in the Famine Village on the beautiful Isle of Doagh, Inishowen.

This is a charity event in aid of Childhood Cancer Foundation and Action for Hope, bringing Pieta House to the North West.

“Many thanks to our wonderful hosts Pat, Majella and their family who have invited us back to the scenic Doagh Famine Village. We have the options to practice indoors in the main hall and a marquee or outdoors at the stunning beach or near the dunes, which we enjoyed, in glorious sunshine, last year.

“We have a range of fantastic teachers from all styles of yoga who have kindly donated their time to the festival,” said Odel and Aisling.

Clothing and healthy option exhibitors, wonderful local musicians and holistic therapists will be providing treatments on the day. Music, dance, yoga and storytelling will be on the menu for children and it is suitable for all levels of yoga experience.

Kitty Sean’s cafe will be serving delicious food and a reduced entry fee to the Famine Village will be available to festival goers.

Admission to the festival is €20 per adult, €5 per child and it will be a fun day out with yoga, music and entertainment for everybody. It is a not for profit event so all the money raised on the day will go directly to the two chosen charities.
