Picture Special: FVC students add a touch of class to end of year celebrations

Emotions were running high this week in Finn Valley College as the Leaving Cert students had class for the last time on Thursday, June 1st.

All Leaving Cert classes – O’Brien, O’Connor and O’Casey showed their appreciation to their class teachers, year head and SNAs in special ways. They spoke at length about the support, advice, motivation and encouragement these teachers and the school gave them over the past 5 years and presented their teachers with fabulous heartfelt gifts that they will indeed cherish.

The school community also received a surprise visit this week from Ignatius, the recently retired caretaker.

All eyes lit up when he entered the building and it wasn’t long until the whole school heard of his return, students and staff alike were more than pleased to see him in and welcomed him with open arms!

Clara Bradley was the worthy recipient of this year’s Caretaker’s Award and it was a great moment for all to have Ignatius and Clara pictured together. The Caretaker’s Award is for a student who shows courtesy and consideration at all times and is most certainly a credit to the school.

Of course, the students had a bit of fun on their final day too!
