‘No bag policy’ at tonight’s friendly against Uruguay in the Aviva amid security concerns

The security team at the Aviva Stadium are barring bags from the stadium ahead of tonight’s friendly between Ireland and Uruguay.

It is advised for supporters to arrive an hour early to get through security in light of the new security measures.

In a statement on the FAI website, a spokesperson says; “Aviva Stadium Management are introducing a “No Bag Policy” to all events in the stadium.

“It is important that supporters do not bring any bags or rucksacks to the game.

“Searching procedures will be in place at all entry points and because of this it is advisable all supporters arrive a little earlier than normal.

“Extra safety and security measures will be in place at this fixture.”

This follows a spate of terror attacks in England, with Manchester Arena being bombed two weeks ago, and two coordinated atrocities occurring in London last night.
