The annual Finn Valley College prize giving ceremony was held at the school last Thursday evening, the 25th of May, to award prizes to students to recognise their achievement in all areas of school life.

The guest of honour was Avril Mc Namee, a former student and an International Handball Champion with many other titles including Ulster and All Ireland titles. Furthermore, Avril is a talented pianist having released her own CD called ‘Bovath’ which is made up of original pieces, traditional Irish ballads and chart songs.

Principal Alan Thompson delivered an inspiring speech to the students, as did Avril. Mr Thompson thanked parents, students, teachers, the community, board of management representatives and our guest of honour for attending.
