Hail, Hail……me a Larsson taxi in Donegal!

A Celtic-mad taxi-driver is hoping for another busy summer season after he named his taxi-firm after Hoops legend Henrik Larsson.

Life-long Bhoys fan Josie Joe Boyle, from Annagry, is a massive fan of the Swedish soccer star.

So much so that he named his hackney cab company Larsson Cabs and uses the brilliant tagline ‘You Never Walk Home.’

Josie Joe, 59, said he picks up lots of business from the large numbers of Scottish people who regularly visit West Donegal.

“They might be looking for a taxi and they call me up and ask me to collect them from Belfast Airport or wherever.

“I’m a huge Celtic fan and Larsson will always be my favourite player. He was simply breath-taking.

Josie Joe’s business card!

“Some of my passengers want to talk about Celtic and we have a little bit of banter about Celtic and it’s always a good talking point.

“I just thought the catchline ‘You’ll Never Walk Home’ was funny and it’s caught on. It’s all a bit of fun,” he said.

Unfortunately, as a hackney driver, Josie Joe can’t decorate his cab with tributes to Larsson or the Scottish Premier Division Champions but says he certainly would if he could.

This summer he is looking forward to a busy time as The Hills of Donegal Celtic Supporters Festival takes place in Bundoran in September.

“I would say that will be a busy weekend for bookings,” laughed Josie Joe.
