Man in serious condition following road traffic collision in Letterkenny

A single vehicle road traffic collision took place at 5:30 this morning in Letterkenny.

The incident occurred on the main Letterkenny to Ramelton road.

The 43-year-old male driver has been brought to Letterkenny University Hospital in serious condition.

A 45-year-old adult female passenger and three other passengers (two boys and a girl between the ages of 7 and 12) sustained non life threatening injuries

The scene is being preserved by Gardaí, and the Forensic Collision Investigation Unit are due to begin their investigation shortly.

Diversions are currently in place, with Gardaí closing the Thorn Road junction of the Letterkenny to Ramelton road.

The AA have this morning issued a warning that road conditions in the Letterkenny area are wet and are urging drivers to be cautious.
