What a brilliant first day it has been at the Joule Donegal International Rally.

Huge crowds have come out on the first day and with the weather set to get even better, the course is set to be even busier tomorrow.

Thankfully there have been no reports of any major accidents with Gardai appealing to followers to listen to the advice of marshalls.

And to the race.

Donagh Kelly and Conor Foley lead the way over Manus Kelly and Donal Gallagher by just 12.3 seconds with Garry Jennings and Rory Kennedy just 23 seconds off the lead.

In the National, Kevin Eaves and William Lynch lead Damien Gallagher and Mac Walsh with Declan Gallagher and John McCarthy in third place with just 49.9 seconds separating the top eight positions.

In Group N, Aidan Wray and Kieran McGrath lead Cathan McCourt and Stephen O’Hanlon with Wiliam Mavitty in third place.

We have compiled a short highlights package from today’s first day.

Simply click on the video to view.

And don’t forget to click in live to Donegal Daily from 9.30am tomorrow (SAT) morning for more exclusive coverage of the event.
