A pub and several homes were badly damaged by flash flooding in Fintown last night.

For a short time, the R252 road from Glenties to Letterkenny was impassible in the area.

Around half-a-dozen homes were damaged and Norton’s Pub in Fintown was said to have been ‘badly affected’ by the flooding at around 8 o’clock.

Members of the Glenties Fire Service attended the scene and helped pump water away from houses along the road for several hours.

Meanwhile, on the other side of Lough Finn, the flooding caused a landslide.
