July 19, 2017

A man found by Gardai staggering in the middle of a dark road wearing dark clothing has been fined €100.

Michael Whoriskey, of Keeldrum, Gortahork was spotted by Gardai just before 2am on October 3rd last walking on the N56 road at Keeldrum.

He was clutching a can of beer in his hand and was staggering on the road.

Gardai asked him to move off the road but Whoriskey, aged 57, refused and became abusive to Gardai.

He was eventually arrested under the Public Order Act.

Falcarragh District Court was told today that Whoriskey has 14 previous convictions for various offences.

Solicitor Kieran O’Gorman said his client was supposed to get a lift that night but it fell through and he had no issue with Gardai.

Judge Paul Kelly fined Whoriskey €100.
